Effects of Moxibustion on the Blood Pressure , Plasma Renin Activity and Catecholamine Concentration in the Two Kidney One Clip Goldblatt Hypertensive Rats

Abstract
The moxibustion was applied to meridian points Shin Soo, Bi Soo and Joong Wan of two kidney one clip Gldblatt hypertensive rats to clarify whether it is effectual for renal hypertension and the results obtained were follows:
1. After one moxibustion to the one week 2K1CGH rats, any changes of blood pressure and plasma renin activity didn¢¥t appear in the control group. However, in the experimental group, the blood pressure and plasma renin activity decreased considerably.
2. After one moxibustion to the three weeks 2K1CGH rats, any changes of blood pressure and plasma renin activity didn¢¥t appear.
3. Plasma dopamine concentration showed the recognizable decreased at 120 minutes after one moxibustion to Joong Wan, the meridian point of 2K1CGH rats.
4. After the moxibustion to Shin Soo, the meridian point of 2K1CGH rats for 11 days, the group showed the recognizable decrease of blood pressure and plasma renin activity.
These results suggest that the moxibustion is effective for the renal hypertension in the early stage. But, in the chronic stage of renal hypertension, the curative value is expected only by the continual application and it is throught that the effect of depressor response by the moxibustion to Shin Soo has a relation with the decreased of plasma renin activity.
